Subtle Racism

It's no news that Donald Trump has questioned Obama's birth

To me, this is just an example of 'subtle racism'...Not the type that shouts out 'NIG*ER' at a passing black man, but the type that........................:

- Questions a black man's right to move into an all-white neighbourhood
- Writes petitions as soon as a black man is appointed to a senior position
- Funds private investigators to find evidence - any - of inappropriate dealings as soon as a black business man becomes successful
- Incites resistance and disobedience - among fellow workers - as soon as a black man becomes a manager in the workplace
- Smiles at the school gates but warns their children to avoid yours
- Moves to another church as soon as a black family starts attending the same church.........................

Yes indeed, make no mistake - This is racism.

Trump questioned Obama's birthplace - now he questions his school grades. I wonder why he doesn't just come out and say 'I do not think a black man is fit to be president.'  ? At least, we would all know exactly where he stands.

If Trump the Chump was not such a pathetic figure, I would be sad. However, I find him - along with most racists - comical !

Whenever my sons have told me about a racist comment/ encounter; I have always told them that the best way to overcome such comments is to do better than the racists. The best way to silence your critics is to outperform them. Score higher, Be smarter, Be more confident......Be Strong !

Obama is a living example of this.

Please watch his response to Trump:

PS - Obama confirmed today (2nd May 2011) that Osama bin Laden has been 'kaputed' by US Navy Seals. I wonder what Trump has to say about that.....mmmm !

  2. Trump needs to be trumped on and I agree, a lot of people are like that because that is all they've ever known growing up. Some will marry a black man or a black woman or be best friends with one and think that it gives them the right to say anything. All so that they can Chip in I am not racist because am married to an African American. Boo! that does not mean you go through what they go through everyday!

  21. Trump is hilarious! And yeah, up Obama jare. He gave it to him good at that dinner, and then delivered Osama. I like what you tell your children, indeed that is the best way.

  23. What you teach your children is key... there'll always be racists and tribalists too. Infact there'll be people who doubt one's abilities even when like identical twins you have lots in common. The way forward is keep ur feet rooted in the ground and aim only for the top!

  24. In the wake of the Osama bin Laden killing, Mr Trump must be feeling very ashamed of himself right now.

But seriously though, what exactly is his own with Obama? I never took him for a racist before this whole thing.

  25. Naija mum, found this so interesting. racism is subtle and Tisha I go with ur comment.

Re 'Trump has lost a lot of followers for the Republican/GOP' I seriously doubt it. A party that can have Palin as a candidate is likely to field anybody - no matter how silly their agenda is

What's is even funnier is that he thinks he's a credible candidate. His hairstyle alone should lose him an election.

  30. Hey!

    Thanks for following my blog!

My mum always drummed into us that racism was born as a result of ignorance and that instead of getting angry, we should feel sorry for people that were so uneducated and I'm so grateful to her for that as I think I have a similar attitude to Obama's on it - Racism ain't my problem, it's yours. It doesn't change or affect me in any way.

I love Obama making light of the situation :)

    @Prism
    I am sooo touched.
I apologise. The past few weeks have been hectic for me.
I have started a new job, and each of my kids has been involved in a major event (birthday, exams, church event) that has required a lot of organising.
Thank God things are settling down now because I seriously feel frazzled.
Thanks for checking up on me.
May blessings surround you and yours, in every way - everyday. Amen
